I am looking for post-docs to join our group at the Stowers Institute (super cool place) in Kansas City (nice, livable city). Our group is broadly interested in genetic conflicts and how they shape genome evolution. We have a wide range of projects analyzing the causes and functional consequences of rapid genome evolution using yeasts (mostly fission) as model systems. We are particularly interested in meiosis. For example, we study the wtf gene family of meiotic drivers as models of genetic conflict. Our lab currently uses a combination of genetics, genomics, molecular evolution and imaging approaches, but I am always looking to expand our repertoire. If you are interested in applying, please send a CV, a short description of your previous research, and a short description of questions you would be interested in pursuing in our lab to Kimla Virden (firstname.lastname@example.org).
