About UPSTATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY
The Department of Neuroscience and Physiology at State University of New York Upstate Medical University is located in Syracuse, New York. The department is collaborative with strengths in molecular and cellular neural development, retinal neurobiology and biological psychiatry. The Neuroscience and Physiology research laboratories are located in the newly built Neuroscience Research Building equipped with state-of-the-art microscopy, animal and molecular core facilities juxtaposed to dedicated space for clinical assessment and phlebotomy facilitating translational neuroscience. The Neuroscience and Physiology labs are adjacent to Ophthalmology and Psychiatry research groups forming the core of the Neuroscience graduate program. Syracuse is a diverse and affordable metropolitan area located in central New York, at the Eastern edge of the scenic Finger Lakes region, with easy access to the New York City, the Adirondacks and the Catskills mountains. Upstate Medical University is within walking distance to Syracuse University and SUNY ESF further enhance opportunities for shared seminars, scientific collaboration.
