Assistant or Associate Professor (Tenure Stream) Department of Computational and Systems Biology University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine
The Department of Computational and Systems Biology (CSB) in the School of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a full-time, tenure-stream faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We seek creative, productive, and collaborative colleagues to lead a research program using experimental and/or computational systems biology approaches to address fundamental biomedical questions and, where appropriate, facilitate translation toward clinical application.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Systems Biology, Computational Biology, or a related field and demonstrate a strong record of scholarly achievement. Candidates should show potential for (Assistant Professor) or evidence of (Associate Professor) leading an independent, externally funded research program, with interdisciplinary collaborations and multidisciplinary research accomplishments in biological systems modeling, systems genetics, and/or molecular mechanisms and therapeutics.
We welcome candidates who combine wet experimental approaches with dry computational approaches, as well as candidates using exclusively computational methods.
Faculty will have the opportunity to mentor students in multiple interdisciplinary graduate programs, including the Joint Carnegie Mellon University–University of Pittsburgh Ph.D. Program in Computational Biology, the Integrative Systems Biology Ph.D. Program, and related graduate programs. Candidates should describe their interest in mentoring and in activities that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University of Pittsburgh is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
