Position No. 50452. SOUTHERN METHODIST UNIVERSITY, Dedman College, Dallas TX. The Department of Biological Sciences seeks a non-tenure track lecturer to join our collaborative and diverse team. The successful candidate will oversee approximately 10 introductory biology lab sections in both the fall and spring semesters and will supervise the activities of a lab technician and graduate teaching assistants. While the primary appointment is for the 9-month academic year, opportunities for additional compensation are available for teaching during January Intersession (Jan Term) and Summer Sessions I and II. Candidates able and willing to teach one laboratory section during these terms are strongly preferred. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biology or related field. Because this is a teaching-intensive position, applicants must enjoy working with undergraduate students. Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate laboratory courses, especially in introductory biology, is preferred. A competitive salary will be offered. Although the initial appointment will be for one year, this is intended to be a long-term position, and there is a promotion track.
